Q:
Is a sheared mink or other fur as warm as an unsheared one?
A: Yes. The warmth of the fur is determined by its wool and
its under-fur, which acts as an insulator. Whether or not the longer
guard hairs are sheared off, the under-fur remains intact and therefore
provides the same warmth.
Q: Does 32 Above Furs use endangered species?
A: Not at all! No reputable furrier sells garments made from
endangered species. It is illegal. The CITES Convention (Convention
on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora)
is a world-wide body which determines which animals are endangered
or threatened and then regulates their trade. Many of these animals
cannot be imported, so they cannot even be obtained legally for sale.
